Supperclub
On a rainy Florence afternoon, Cinzia and I were reading about the Cesarine - keen Italian home cooks who have joined together to keep their regional cuisine alive, both to other local people, and to visitors to the area. What a great idea! (The NY Times thought so too!) And we thought it would be even more fun to bring that to London! We started to hear about supperclubs, and decided to give it a try.
In London, there is a wide choice of supperclubs and each one has its own personality – some are super hip and edgy, some are funky, some are haute cuisine. Our goal is to bring you into a Tuscan family atmosphere, for food that Cinzia would cook for her own family at home, things that you couldn’t find in a London restaurant. We spent nine weekends in 2010 around our table, chatting with old friends and new, over a nice bottle of wine, and some wonderful food. Cinzia provided the cooking and Jill provided the locale and hostess-ing. We had so much fun and made some wonderful friends! You can see photos and menus on our blog on this website. We aren’t doing monthly dinners anymore, but we reserve the right to set up something spontaneous and seasonal, particularly if Cinzia is in town for another event or just visiting. If you would like her to cook for one of your events, just drop us a line!
We hope that those of you who dined with us were delighted! We’d love for you to sign our guestbook. You can stay in touch by signing up for our email list. Or you can join our Facebook Group to get updates on future events!
